VERIFICATION STATUS

Broad coverage.
Open questions.

32 catalogue records; 28 indexed works. Shared branch points, embedded scenes and anthology containers are distinguished.

A research edition, not a completed full-interior audit. A missing date remains an inspection gap until the actual work has been checked.

Inventory / contradiction checks

  • Pre-build research table produced before site generation. Inventory checked across six principal games, original and sequel expansions, both comics, prose retelling, dossier, blog, prequel shorts, QR films, narrative music films, official crossover and Firebreak training / updates.
  • One inclusive connected history; nested Night Springs fiction is not classified as non-canon merely for altered characters. Max Payne / Quantum Break exclusion follows the creator, rather than inference from shared actors.
  • 2010 / 2023 thirteen-year relation, 2019 Control, Firebreak +6 years and Resonant +7 years cross-checked separately from release dates. The future AWE warning and 2024 Lake House release do not displace their containing stories.
  • Original This House of Dreams dated text read directly. Legal Steam comic / dossier access found, but missing game files prevent full page inspection; that gap is explicit in each relevant row.
  • Continuous Bright Falls / training runs grouped. Prose and Fortnite retellings share the original game position; Final Draft and the musical share Alan Wake 2. DLC retain individual access / chronology records.
  • Current Resonant release and mode notes checked. Firebreak Breakpoint / Rogue Protocol included without assigning patch years as story years. No future DLC invented.
  • Amazon Remastered, Control Ultimate and Alan Wake 2 Deluxe titles checked directly; Deluxe content and Remastered voucher verified. Comics and free blog use corresponding legal access, not unrelated products.

Verification still required

  • Both short comic interiors, the complete novel and complete dossier need direct legal interior inspection. No claim that a missing date cannot be found inside them. Psycho Thriller’s exact episode alignment remains provisional within 2010.
  • Dark Place scripts, Visions and the Entity crossover lack a dependable Earth clock. Their captivity windows overlap; sort anchors inside those windows express editorial grouping, not exact years.
  • Full mission / historical-document chronology and every embedded film’s fictional production date have not been exhaustively frame-audited. The main games include those narrative collections, with selected separate embedded indexes.
  • Bright Falls creator page contains all six episode embeds; uninterrupted playback / regional access not certified. Historical distributor YouTube links should not be assumed active.
  • This is a researched catalogue of identified official stories, not certification that every art-book insert, vanished promotional page or newly updated live-service line has been inspected.

Games / novel / live action

Max Payne / Quantum Break, live-action episodes and Zero State

Connected references; outside RCU scope

Sam Lake explicitly excludes these games from the RCU. Their actors, echoes and Quantum Break’s Return teaser are documented connections, but are not silently merged into Alan / Control’s history. A future separate franchise guide can catalogue their full stories.

Alan Wake’s six Night Springs episodes (The Quantum Suicide, An Absence of Creativity, The Man in the Mirror, The Dream of Dreams, Taken in His Prime and Family Occasions), Control’s puppet shorts, Darling presentations, radio and case reports are embedded narrative collections. They are included in the main-game records; their fictional production dates and every historical report are not falsely declared present-day standalone releases.

SOURCE REGISTER

Primary sources first.

  1. PrimaryRemedy — Alan Wake

Official game and premise. Original / remastered versions are the same main adventure.

  2. PrimaryAlan Wake Remastered — official contents

Confirms inclusion of The Signal and The Writer. No additional sequel date inferred from the remaster’s 2021 release.

  3. PrimaryAlan Wake 2 — official story

Alan’s thirteen-year captivity links the 2010 and 2023 main stories. Dark Place experiences can overlap that Earth interval.

  4. PrimaryAlan Wake 2 — expansion FAQ

Read: The Lake House unfolds parallel to the main game; Night Springs characters are written variants, not simply the original people at new dates. Physical Deluxe contents confirmed.

  5. PrimaryNight Springs — Remedy’s story explanation

Three scripts are Alan’s escape attempts. Article identifies Number One Fan, North Star and Time Breaker. It does not give a single shared Earth year for their internal worlds.

  6. PrimaryRemedy — The Final Draft

New ending and narrative collectibles: not dismissed as a cosmetic replay. Grouped with the same spiral-shaped adventure.

  7. PrimaryXbox Wire / Remedy interview — The Lake House

Expansion and integration into the base story verified. Release in 2024 is not a 2024 story setting.

  8. PrimaryRemedy — American Nightmare

Officially after Alan Wake; Arizona story with Mr. Scratch. Not excluded because of its Night Springs framing.

  9. Secondary / game walkthroughAmerican Nightmare — manuscript / dialogue walkthrough

Nearly two years since Wake’s disappearance reported in the game walkthrough; gives an estimated 2012 frame, not a precise day.

  10. PrimaryControl — official Ultimate Edition contents

Main adventure plus Foundation and AWE in Ultimate Edition. Edition release dates are kept separate from story years.

  11. PrimaryRemedy / 505 — AWE FAQ

AWE is available after main mission seven, The Face of the Enemy. Availability is a lower narrative bound, not proof of a mandatory exact interleaving with The Foundation.

  12. PrimaryRemedy / 505 — The Foundation FAQ

Requires completion of Take Control, the final main mission. Thus follows the base campaign, despite later release formats.

  13. PrimaryRemedy — March 2025 Control update

Actual update note read: Dr. Yoshimi Tokui mission is unlocked through the Research Sector tapes; previously PS4 Digital Deluxe exclusive. Its wider availability is not a new story set in 2025.

  14. PrimaryRemedy / 505 — Expeditions announcement

Official blog inventory identifies free Expeditions update. Repeatable Jukebox challenges are not separate years or separate canons.

  15. Secondary / file referencesControl — documented in-game chronology

Secondary chronology indexed from FBC files: 2002 Ordinary incident and 2019 Hiss invasion. Original full game files not directly inspected in this audit; exact invasion day not asserted.

  16. Secondary / game inspectionAWE — Hartman and future-alert cross-check

Reviews the Investigations Sector evidence and Hartman’s earlier containment. The future Bright Falls warning does not move Jesse’s whole expansion to the date of the warned event.

  17. PrimaryRemedy — legal Alan Wake bonus materials

Publisher-distributed comics and bonus PDFs. Requires the base game. No local installed copy found at checked Steam-library locations; no readable legal comic pages obtained, so interior dates remain unverified.

  18. Secondary / contemporary bibliographyThe Sudden Stop — comics publication / placement record

Contemporaneous article, updated with official Steam access, identifies Night Springs around Episode 5 and Psycho Thriller’s Hartman story. Illegal scan links on that page were not followed. Dates from file metadata are not story dates.

  19. BibliographicNight Springs — comics bibliography

Frank Breaker story set during the first game; cross-check of title, creators and relationship. Not an interior inspection.

  20. BibliographicPsycho Thriller — comics bibliography

Hartman story reported after the first game. Main 2010 aftermath window retained; no exact day claimed without pages.

  21. PrimaryRemedy — The Alan Wake Files digital book

Official 130-page illustrated PDF: Clay Steward investigates Wake and Nightingale. Contains fictional evidence and older material; not an unrelated making-of art book. Base game required. Full interior not acquired.

  22. Secondary / game and book referencesClay Steward — evidence / frame cross-check

Steward’s investigation and later compilation distinguish the narrator’s frame from old documents; around 2010–2012 is a working bracket, not the book’s publication date.

  23. PrimaryTor / Macmillan — Alan Wake by Rick Burroughs

Licensed prose adaptation, paperback ISBN 9780765328434. No complete readable interior inspected; deviations are not asserted to replace the games.

  24. PrimaryBright Falls — production designer’s series page

Creator portfolio inspected directly: all six episode embeds identified (Oh Deer, Time Flies, Lights Out, Local Flavor, Off the Record, Clearcut), alongside a separate case-study film. Embedded players located; uninterrupted full playback not certified.

  25. Secondary / contemporary release recordBright Falls — contemporary six-episode release record

Six-part live-action prequel. Original distributor video links are historical; no currently playable official complete YouTube upload verified in this audit.

  26. PrimaryThis House of Dreams — actual dated story posts

Original narrative text read directly, including Introduction on 2012/02/22, Tour of the House on 2012/02/23 and final post on 2012/07/29, shoebox poems, dreams and RETURN title page. February archive opened separately to verify the opening date.

  27. Secondary / contemporary recordThis House of Dreams — creator attribution record

Contemporary fan-site record; later comics article reports Sam Lake’s authorship confirmation. Control and Lake House references support connection.

  28. PrimaryRemastered Visions — legal original video inventory

Embedded QR-linked Remedy video and monologue transcription read. Site’s artificial year-2000 archive URL is not the story date or the release date.

  29. Secondary / game inspectionVisions — game inspection / time clues

Three new QR videos involve years of Dark Place writing and point toward the sequel; not simply events in 2010 because the QR code is in a 2010 adventure.
